Welcome Coach Henry Cornelius!

The Flight Basketball Club proudly introduces Henry Cornelius, a seasoned coach and basketball aficionado, as the newest addition to our coaching staff. With his wealth of experience and dedication to player development, Henry brings a fresh perspective and unwavering passion for the game to our program.

Background:

Born and raised in Berkeley, California, Henry has basketball in his blood. His journey began at Berkeley High School, where he made a significant impact on the court. Notable achievements include Second Team All-Conference during his junior year and First Team All-Conference in his senior year. Henry's outstanding performance attracted attention from numerous Division One college recruiters, resulting in over 15 scholarship offers.

Henry continued his basketball journey at institutions such as the University of Idaho, Cal Poly Pomona, and Menlo College. His commitment to excellence and dedication to the sport led him to pursue professional opportunities in Argentina during the 2019-2020 season, where he gained valuable international experience.

Coaching Career:

Transitioning from player to coach, Henry has spent the last four years dedicated to player development and coaching club high school teams. In 2021, he moved to Idaho and founded "The Jungle Basketball," a player development program aimed at nurturing local talent in the Treasure Valley area.

Through "The Jungle Basketball," Henry has become a pillar of the basketball community, impacting the lives of over 55 players across all age groups, from elementary school to college. His coaching philosophy emphasizes skill development, strategic gameplay, and character building, instilling values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance in his players.
